Who is responsible for the vehicle during the hire?

You are. The hirer is responsible for the car from the moment it's handed over until the partner checks it back in, including any damage, fines and fuel, and keeping it secure.

Keep the car locked and the keys with you
Only let named drivers drive
Pay fines, tolls and congestion charges. See am I responsible for tolls and congestion charges
Report damage, accidents or theft within 24 hours

At handover and return

Check the car with the partner and note any marks. See do I need to report minor damage.

Am I covered for breakdowns?

Yes. Breakdown cover is included as standard by Autofusion partners. If the car breaks down, contact the partner or Autofusion and we'll make sure a replacement car is provided for the rest of your hire.

What should I do in case of an accident?

Make sure everyone is safe, call the police if anyone is injured, photograph everything and report the accident to Autofusion within 24 hours.

Is there an excess amount?

Yes. Every car on Autofusion has an insurance excess, shown on the listing before you book. It's usually between £6,000 and £25,000 depending on the car, and it's the most you pay towards damage or theft covered by the insurance.

What happens if I lose the keys?

Lost or damaged keys are not covered by the insurance, so you pay the replacement cost, usually £300 to £750 depending on the manufacturer. Tell Autofusion and the partner straight away.
