Vehicle Use & Restrictions

Are there restrictions on how I can use the vehicle?

Yes. Only drivers named on the booking can drive, and the car must be used legally on public roads. Racing, track days, ride-hailing, courier work and illegal use are never allowed, and off-road driving or towing needs the partner's written approval.

Can I use the vehicle for racing or track days?

No. Racing, track days, timed events and drifting are never allowed. Track use voids the insurance, so you pay the full cost of any damage, recovery and repairs.

Can I take the vehicle off-road?

Only if the partner agrees in writing before your hire. Without approval, off-road driving breaks your hire agreement, and damage may not be covered by the insurance.

Can I use the vehicle for delivery or courier work?

No. Courier and delivery work isn't allowed, and neither is Uber, taxi or private hire work. The insurance doesn't cover paid delivery or passenger work, so it breaks your hire agreement.

Can I drive a hire car to Scotland, Wales or abroad?

Yes. You can drive an Autofusion hire car anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales without asking first. Any trip that needs a ferry must be agreed with us before you book.

Can I tow with the vehicle?

Only if the partner agrees in writing before your hire. Without approval, towing breaks your hire agreement, and any damage may not be covered by the insurance.

Can I lend the vehicle to someone else?

No. Only drivers named on your booking can drive the car. Anyone else isn't insured, so you pay the full cost of any damage, and it breaks your hire agreement.

Can I make modifications to the vehicle?

No, not without the partner's written approval. That includes stickers, wraps, tints, fitted accessories and any mechanical or electrical changes. Tampering with or removing the tracker is never allowed.

Can I transport hazardous or restricted goods?

No. You can't carry hazardous, illegal or restricted goods, such as flammable or toxic materials, explosives, drugs or stolen goods. Illegal use can be reported to the police, and the partner can end the hire and recover the car.

What happens if I breach usage restrictions?

If you break the usage rules, the insurance can be void and the partner can end the hire and recover the car. You may pay the full cost of any damage, recovery and repairs, and be refused future bookings.
