What should I do in case of an accident?

Make sure everyone is safe, call the police if anyone is injured, photograph everything and report the accident to Autofusion within 24 hours.

At the scene

  1. Stop safely and switch on your hazard lights
  2. Call 999 if anyone is hurt or the road is blocked
  3. Take photos of all vehicles, the scene and any damage
  4. Swap names, addresses and insurance details with other drivers
  5. Don't admit fault or agree to settle privately

Is there an excess amount?

Yes. Every car on Autofusion has an insurance excess, shown on the listing before you book. It's usually between £6,000 and £25,000 depending on the car, and it's the most you pay towards damage or theft covered by the insurance.

What happens if I lose the keys?

Lost or damaged keys are not covered by the insurance, so you pay the replacement cost, usually £300 to £750 depending on the manufacturer. Tell Autofusion and the partner straight away.

What is not covered under the insurance?

Tyres, wheels, windscreens, punctures and lost keys are not covered by the insurance on cars hired through Autofusion, so you pay the repair or replacement cost. Cover is also void if the car is damaged through negligence or misuse.
