When is payment taken?

You pay the full hire price at checkout on Autofusion, and your car is reserved as soon as the payment goes through. The security deposit is held separately on your card at handover, or upfront with the booking where the partner requires it.

The security deposit is pre-authorised on a card in the main driver's name. It's a hold, not a charge.

After the hire

Only charges allowed under the terms, such as extra miles, fuel or fines, are taken from the deposit. The rest is released within 7 days.

When will I get my deposit back after hiring a car?

Under the Autofusion Deposit Guarantee, the partner must return your deposit, or raise an issue with the car, within 7 days of your hire ending. If they do neither, Autofusion refunds you.

What happens if I exceed the mileage allowance?

You pay the extra-mile charge shown on the listing for every mile over your allowance, usually between £1.50 and £5 a mile. It's taken from your security deposit after the hire.

Are there mileage limits?

Yes. Most cars on Autofusion include a daily mileage allowance, from 100 miles a day up to unlimited, and every listing shows the allowance and the charge for each extra mile.

Can I use someone else's card to pay?

Yes. Anyone can pay for an Autofusion booking, such as a friend, parent or company, but the security deposit must be held on a card in the main driver's name.
