What happens if accessories are lost or damaged?

You pay the replacement cost of any accessory that's lost or damaged during your hire, such as a charging cable, parcel shelf or locking wheel nut key. Lost keys usually cost £300 to £750 to replace.

Avoid it

Check the accessories at handover, and that they're all in the car when you return it. The charge can be taken from your deposit.

How should I return an electric vehicle?

Return the car with the same battery charge it had at handover, and with its charging cable. If it comes back with less charge, you pay for the missing charge plus a fee, the same way as fuel.

What fuel should I use?

Use the fuel type shown inside the fuel filler flap and on the listing, and confirm it with the partner at handover. Putting in the wrong fuel isn't covered by the insurance, so you pay the full cost of draining the tank and any repairs.

Who pays for fuel or charging during the hire?

You do. Fuel and charging during your hire aren't included in the price. The price does include VAT, insurance, breakdown cover and a daily mileage allowance.

What happens if I return the vehicle with less fuel?

You pay for the missing fuel plus a refuelling fee, usually £20 or more depending on the partner. The fuel charge can be higher than pump prices, so it's cheaper to fill up yourself before you return the car.
